Does your website track visitors before consent?

Find out in a few seconds if you are in good standing: we analyse your home page as a new visitor.

Free, no registration and no email. How it works

Everything you need to be cookie-compliant

A banner alone is not enough: if scripts start before consent, the website is not compliant. We stop them.

Prior blocking

Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn, TikTok, Hotjar, YouTube, Google Maps and the other services stay blocked until the visitor accepts the right category.

Google Consent Mode v2

Analytics, Ads and Tag Manager receive the consent signals Google requires for campaigns in the European Economic Area.

Consent log

Every choice is saved with date, categories and truncated IP. You can find a consent and export the log as CSV.

WordPress plugin

The plugin adds the banner and blocks scripts on the server side, even with caching plugins enabled.

Download the plugin from GitHub

Your style, your words

Colours, position and texts in Italian and English. The banner is isolated from the theme and does not break the website design.

For web agencies

Manage all your clients' websites from one account, with your team, read-only access for clients and banners without our brand.

Live in three steps

  1. 1

    Register the website

Create the account, add the domain and choose the cookie categories your website uses.

  2. 2

    Install the script

Paste one line in the <head> of any website (Laravel, PHP, HTML…) or use the WordPress plugin or the PrestaShop module.

  3. 3

    Done

The banner appears, scripts are blocked until consent and every choice is recorded in the log.

<script src="https://cdn.cookiesmart.it/api/c/YOUR-SITE-KEY.js"></script>

Example: you copy the code with your site key from the dashboard, after adding your website.

Installation

Ready and compliant on every platform

On WordPress and PrestaShop you use the plugin or the module. On any other website the JavaScript tag is enough: no library to install, no change to the application code.

WordPress

The plugin adds the banner first in the page and blocks scripts already in the HTML, even with caching plugins. All it needs is the site key.

  • Banner added first in the page
  • Scripts blocked already in the HTML, before download
  • Works with caching plugins
  • Blocking patterns updated from the dashboard
Download the plugin

PrestaShop

The module for PrestaShop 1.7, 8 and 9 adds the banner and blocks the scripts of the theme and modules before the browser downloads them.

  • PrestaShop 1.7, 8 and 9
  • Banner added first in the <head>
  • Theme and module scripts blocked before download
  • No changes to the theme files
Download the module

Laravel, PHP and any other website

Paste the tag as the first element of the <head>, in the layout shared by all pages. It automatically blocks Facebook, Hotjar, YouTube, Google Maps and the other recognised services, including those loaded by other scripts.

The Cookie Smart tag

<script src="https://cdn.cookiesmart.it/api/c/YOUR-SITE-KEY.js"></script>

Optional, for tags written in the HTML

<script type="text/plain" data-cookiesmart-category="analytics" src="/js/statistiche.js"></script>

With type and category the browser does not even download the script until the visitor accepts. The scan tells you which scripts are worth marking this way.

Designed around the GDPR and the Italian DPA (Garante) guidelines

The Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), the Italian Privacy Code and the cookie guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante) of 10 June 2021 are clear about what a banner can and cannot do. We turned them into default behaviours that you cannot switch off by mistake.

  • No non-technical cookies before consent
  • "Reject" button as visible as "Accept"
  • Closing the banner with the X counts as a rejection
  • No pre-ticked boxes, no cookie wall
  • Choice for each category
  • Banner not shown again for 6 months, unless something changes
  • Preferences always editable by the visitor
  • Proof of consent with truncated IP

Frequently asked questions

Does the service also write the cookie policy?

No. We provide the banner, script blocking and the consent log. The cookie policy and the privacy policy must be written for your website: enter the link in the dashboard and the banner shows it.

Does it work with WordPress caching plugins?

Yes. The banner is loaded from our server at every visit and the plugin marks scripts already in the HTML, so the cached page stays correct.

What happens to Google Analytics?

With Google Consent Mode v2, Google tags load but do not use cookies until the visitor accepts. If you prefer to block them completely, you can do it from the dashboard.

Does the scan also find the cookies of the private area?

The scan visits the public pages of the website, like other services do, without logging in. Script blocking, however, works on every page with the banner, customer area included. If the private area uses different services, add their cookies manually from the dashboard.

Does it work on a Laravel website or without a CMS?

Yes. On any website you just paste the JavaScript tag as the first element of the <head>, in the layout shared by all pages: recognised services are blocked automatically until consent. For tags written directly in the HTML you can add type="text/plain" and data-cookiesmart-category with the category (e.g. analytics): this way the browser does not even download them before consent.

Do you support IAB TCF v2.2?

No. It is only needed by those who sell programmatic advertising (e.g. AdSense in the European Union); in that case a Google-certified CMP is required.

What happens if I cancel?

The service stays active until the end of the paid period, then the banner is no longer shown and your account is deleted, together with the websites and all the data collected. Before the end date we send you an email with the link to download the log.
