Included in Cookie Smart
The cookie policy that updates itself
Cookie Smart scans your website, classifies the cookies and shows them in the banner's Cookie declaration tab, by category, with provider, duration and purpose. One link from your privacy policy and the list is always up to date, in every language of the banner.
No credit card needed for the trial. Included in every plan.
What it includes
What the cookie policy must list, without updating it by hand
Cookies by category
Necessary, functional, analytics and marketing: for each cookie its name, provider, duration and purpose.
External services
Videos, maps, pixels and other embedded services, even when they set no cookies but receive the visitor's IP address.
Automatic classification
We recognise the most common cookies thanks to the Open Cookie Database and our own entries for WordPress, WooCommerce and PrestaShop: only unknown ones are left to you.
Date of the latest scan
Visitors see when the list was last checked. The scan runs again by itself every 30 days.
Visitor's consent
Below the list, the choices made in that browser, with date and identifier, and the button to change them.
One link, every language
A link to #cookiesmart-cookies opens the declaration in the banner, from any page and in the language of the banner: no table to copy for each language.
How it works
Three steps, just once
-
Scan the website
Start the scan from the dashboard: we visit the public pages before and after consent and classify cookies and services.
-
Link the declaration
A link to #cookiesmart-cookies in your privacy policy and, if you like, in the footer. The dashboard's privacy policy template already contains it.
-
Let Cookie Smart do the rest
At every scan the list updates itself, without touching your website.
Always check the list
The scan sees the public pages: add the cookies of restricted areas (cart, customer area) yourself from the dashboard. The website owner remains responsible for the content of the cookie policy.
Example list (fictitious data)

Frequently asked questions
Cookie policy, banner and consent log work together: Cookie Smart blocks tracking services until consent, records visitors' choices and keeps the cookie list up to date.

Does Cookie Smart write the whole cookie policy?
Cookie Smart generates and updates the part that changes over time: the list of cookies and external services by category, with provider, duration and purpose, the date of the latest scan and the visitor's consent. The rest of the notice (controller, purposes, rights) can be a single document, the privacy policy, which you prepare with the template included in the dashboard: its Cookies section already contains the link to the declaration.
How is the cookie list updated?
The scan visits the public pages of the website before and after consent, every 30 days or whenever you start it. The cookies found are classified automatically and the list in the cookie policy changes by itself, with nothing to copy again.
How do I link it from my website?
With a link to #cookiesmart-cookies, for example in the Cookies section of your privacy policy or in the footer: it opens the banner's Cookie declaration tab, even from another page. If you prefer the table inside the text of a page, use the HTML code, the WordPress shortcode or the PrestaShop text you find in the dashboard, under the website's Cookie policy.
Can I correct how a cookie is classified?
Yes. In the dashboard you edit the category, provider, duration and purpose of each entry, or add cookies the scan cannot see, such as those of restricted areas. Entries edited by hand are not overwritten by later scans.
Can visitors change their choices from the declaration?
Yes. The declaration shows the consent given in that browser, with date and identifier, and from the same window visitors can go back to the categories and change their mind at any time.
Is it also available in English?
Yes. The declaration follows the language of the banner, Italian or English: no page to duplicate for each language.
